Update Error 732 (2,0), please help

Recommended Posts

Hello, I am having trouble updating Malwarebytes today. I did it fine yesterday, I updated it to 3406. However every time I update it gives me this strange error message of 732 (2,0). I've e-mailed, when to the forum FAQs, and even ran it to see if it was anything causing it but I found nothing wrong but I still get the same error message. I am doing something wrong? Is anyone else getting this problem?

Please open Internet Explorer

Go to Tools ---> Internet Options ---> Click on Lan Settings ---> If proxy server is checked, please uncheck it. You will need to do the same in Firefox under Advanced ---> Network ---> Settings ---> make sure No proxy is checked. Reboot your computer and see if you can update.

Yes, but it's best to do it in a particular way to make sure you get a clean reinstall. Please try this:

  • Uninstall Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware using Add/Remove programs in the control panel.
  • Restart your computer (very important).
  • Download and run this utility. mbam-clean.exe
  • It will ask to restart your computer (please allow it to).
  • After the computer restarts, Temporarily disable your Anti-Virus and install the latest version of Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from here
Note: If you are using the paid version, you will need to reactivate the program using the license you were sent. There is no need to buy a new license. An MBAM license lasts for a lifetime.
Launch the program and set the Protection and Registration. Then go to the UPDATE tab if not done during installation and check for updates.
Restart the computer again and verify that MBAM is in the task tray. Now check or setup any file exclusions as may be required in your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security/Firewall applications and restart your Anti-Virus/Internet-Security applications.

If none of this solves the problem, please read and follow the directions here, skipping any steps you are unable to complete. Then post a NEW topic here. A malware removal expert will then advise you on how to proceed.
