Virus that survived a reformat...

Recommended Posts

Yup. I ran two reformats, both out-of-the-factory 100% reformats

I used Dr. Web Cure it and it found the following:

They are located in:

C:\Program Files\Toshiba\Windows Utilities\Fn-esse\Fnesse32Re.exe (Trojan.Click.32676)

C:\System Volume Information\_restore{51267417-B33C-4783-A2FB-CCFAFA2247D8}\RP12\A0001525.exe (Trojan.Click.32676)

C:\System Volume Information\_restore{51267417-B33C-4783-A2FB-CCFAFA2247D8}\RP5\A0000992.ocx (Adware G.down)

And Dr. Web Cureit says it cannot be cured so it was simply moved. Can someone help please?

I've attached Malware Byte Log

And this is the HiJackThis log:

Hi,

What Dr.Web found appear to be false positives.

Please send them the file C:\Program Files\Toshiba\Windows Utilities\Fn-esse\Fnesse32Re.exe so they can fix it.

There's nothing suspicious in your log. I didn't expect to see anything suspicious anyway since you formatted 2 times.

Thank you for the reply

But what about what Malware Bytes told me? It said 1 file was infected.

Files Infected:

C:\DelUS.bat (Malware.Trace) -> No action taken.

It doesn't seem to be there. The only folders on my C drive are

ARCSOFT, DOCS, Documents and Settings, EULA, EZFirewall, Program Files, Toshiba, WINDOWS, WORKSSETUP

I apologize for being so bad with computers

I even type that in the explorer bar and it doesn't exist

Something seems weird...maybe Malware bytes moved the file after it scanned it last time? I'll run up a quick scan again
