readytoretire Posted December 14, 2009 ID:170599 Share Posted December 14, 2009 Last Friday I ran a full scan with MalwareBytes and the scan found 2 instances of Trojan.hbo. They were located at Registry Keys Infected:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\{4a8ae8e3-0405-4984-a1b5-6fe1244a29be} (Trojan.BHO) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{4a8ae8e3-0405-4984-a1b5-6fe1244a29be} (Trojan.BHO) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.both instances were successfully deleted and I reran a full scan. No problems were detected on the rescan. Should I change my passwords due to this infection? Thanks, readytoretire
nosirrah Posted December 14, 2009 ID:170601 Share Posted December 14, 2009 That CLSID is unknown to us and google so it is dynamically assigned by the actual infection and without the complete log there is absolutely no way to tell what you were infected with . Firefox Posted December 14, 2009 ID:170604 Share Posted December 14, 2009 Better safe than sorry, it would not hurt to change your password from time to time.
