Sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask, I had some questions about iOS and iPadOS to put my mind at ease by understanding more about them, and this forum has very knowledgeable experts.

in the safari settings, when you tap clear history and website data, it only clears the safari history, and website data, correct? I’ve either heard somewhere that it clears cache elsewhere, or it’s an idea I’ve gotten in my head for some reason. Either way, I’ve made a habit of pressing that button to clear history and website data after I start up my devices/before I restart them, and I don’t know if that’s a good idea or not.

iOS and iPadOS are pretty much the same, aren’t they? They’re both supposed to be really secure.

I sometimes get a little worried when I accidentally tap an ad and it opens a window or tab in safari when browsing a social media app like Twitter, but realistically, that wouldn’t be able to do anything to the operating systems, would it?

Thank you.
