Uploading a suspected FP

Recommended Posts

While I am at it, what is the best way to upload a suspected FP to MBAM.

The last time I used the "Jump to File" (I think) feature, created a ZIP FILE, saved it to my desktop and uploaded it to MBAM. Then I QUARANTINED the suspected infection. When it proved to be an FP I restored the quarantined file.

Also, if the newly created ZIP FILE proves to be a real threat what should be done with it? Would overwriting (wiping) it destroy it?

I think the last time I just moved it (the ZIP FILE) to the RECYCLE BIN then cleaned it with CCleaner (programmed to overwrite the deleted file).

Thanks again.

No extensive procedure is needed. As long as the file is not executed it can do no harm. Once you've uploaded the sample, just do another scan and have Malwarebytes' remove the live sample and delete the zip file normally and empty the recycle bin :) .

Thank you! :)
