virus issues

I've recently had some issues with a torrent downloader, and i believe that I've received a rather serious virus. I can't access many essential programs and have limited ways to deal with any potential virus.

After checking a few more things I found that mbam gives a runtime 372 error. This listed as part of a virut virus in another thread. Is this a lost cause?
