Text Protection on an Android S23 -- Is there a whitelist tech guide?

Recommended Posts

Earlier I contacted support and I was given a link to a document that was only about how to whitelist a sender for Text Protection for IOS equipment.  This is the link: https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/articles/16955284131859-Manage-phone-numbers-in-the-Allow-list-on-Mobile-Security

Is there a similar guide that applies to android phones, so I can stop the false positives from driving me batty?

Thanks
F

Text protection is still a BETA feature. I suggest turning it off compleatly. That currently is the only option.

Will do.  Dang surprising paid support didn't say that.

I saw your other topic. It is a round-and-round to say the correct thing to the bot to create a support ticket. Which when correct you get a ticket number and wait for the email response.

We can handle most things here on the forum. The only time we ask users to contact the support desk is for license issues and some non-Windows malware.

Ok thank you for the heads up.

That ticket that I opened reported my false-positive warning by the beta android Text Protection.   Before I created that ticket, I consulted the tech tip document that the chat bot directed me to, written to say that if I was a subscriber I should use Malware support, rather than the forum to report the problem.  If that's not what they want they should rewrite the document to say so.

Specifically I asked, "Is it a known issue that Capital One Walmart Rewards Credit card text messages causes Text Protection to generate a false positive alert?"  Those texts come from 227898

I'd be glad to respond here if there are additional details needed.

The chatbot is AI-driven to guide you to support articles that "might" answer the question. Or to create an email support ticket. Also to engage in live chat when available.

That is true and correct. It is like that as some do not wish to sign up and use a forum. Some people are completely lost on a forum.

It's worded that way also because non-subscribers can't use it to create a support ticket.
