How do I reach a live customer service person? Call, tell me to go online

I'm frustrated. Never have I experienced such blatant disreguard for customers. I have tried online to cancel my subscription, no followup. I have tried to login to my online account numerous times I can't even count, no luck. I have called the Customer Service Number at Cleverbridge (800)799-9570, get directed to go online and then hung up on. The most runaround I've EVER received in my 74 years. I started my subscription in 2017 for $39.99 year and in 2024 they charged my credit card $61.79. The credit card company says they can't credit my account because I'm "tied" to a contract with Malwarebytes/Cleverbridge. So what do I do, forget the $61.79, cancel my credit card that I have had for 35 years. This is disturbing. I need answers.

You could try this first.

Disable auto-renewal of your Malwarebytes subscription

 

When auto-renewal is turned on, the payment method on file is charged automatically at the end of a trial period or on the subscription expiration date. To cancel your trial or subscription, disable auto-renewal in your Malwarebytes account. A canceled subscription will remain active and valid until its expiration date.

To turn off auto-renewal:

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. On the Overview page, click Billing Billing Type.svg in the sidebar.
  3. Under Payment methods, find the Auto-renew toggle.
  4. Toggle Auto-renew off.
  5. Click Turn off in the pop-up window.
  6. In the new window, you are prompted to select a reason for canceling auto-renewal. Select the reason and click Turn off.
  7. Once you're done turning off auto-renewal, you'll receive a confirmation email.
