Blue Screening/Crashing issues, Has persisted despite fixing from Microcent

Recommended Posts

I built my PC with the help of my friends in late July, and although it runs games great (smooth graphics/framerate, quick load times, etc) I keep getting some odd crashes that hamper any enjoyable experience I have.

Parts List:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7300X3D (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BTRRNK7T?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title)
GPU: MSI RTX4060 VENTUS 2X 8G OC
CASE: Montech Air (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CB26ZFKV?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1)
MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE B650 (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BYBHW4SH?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1)
Internal SSD: Kingston NV2 1TB (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BBWH1R8H?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1)
RAM: CORSAIR VENGENCE DDR5 RAM 32GB (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BPL9VYPW?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title)
Power Supply: Corsair RM850e (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BYQPH5J3?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1)
OS Windows (Installed using MAS, https://github.com/massgravel/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts)

Issues/Timeline:
During assembly, I accidentally bent a few pins on the motherboard. Thankfully, my friends were able to bend it back into place and we proceeded with the rest of the build. Since then, the PC has had some odd crashes. Sometimes I will go days at a time without a crash, other times it will be multiple in a day. At first, I got a blue screen that said “PC ran into issues, it needs to restart”. But recently, I have been getting issues where the screen goes black barring a few pixles and then the screen goes black and the PC resets.

I did not have the GeForce Experience app downloaded and the necessary drivers for my graphics card installed until the night I took it to the local microcenter for repairs. The version I had initially was verison 536, and when I installed the update it went to version 560.81. After I updated the drivers my PC ran smoothly for the rest of the night.

Went to Microcenter for repair, during their testing they said that my PC ran perfectly and that they could not detect any issues. They recommended reimaging so I gave them the go ahead. My PC is reimaged and they redownload all necessary drivers.

I got the PC back and I am still getting crashes, this time it is exclusively blue screens. Most crashes have happened when I am playing games but a couple have happened while I was on my desktop/downloading a game.

The only thing I am able to do consistently is watch my friends stream videos, games, etc in discord.

On top of this now, my GeForce Experience won’t load when I try to boot it up. I get the error code Rx003.

Does anyone have any idea of what could be wrong? My friends are leaning towards a graphics card or a motherboard issue.

I am taking it back to the Microcenter on Sunday as they said they would do some free additional work on it because their fix didn’t work, so any answers I get here I will compile and give to the technicians there to hopefully make their job easier.

Did you tell Microcenter about the bent pins?

That is illegal licensing of Windows

Oh, was not aware of that. Was told by a CS buddy of mine about it and had them do their thing and install it.

If it is a source of the problem I will be sure to buy a legitimate key. Thank you for the heads up 👍.

I am not saying that is the source of the issue, only that it's not legal.

Please run the scans and attach the logs and we'll see if we can find something

Will do, thank you so much for your help!

I will attach my results in a couple of hours.
