Does the free version of malwarebytes detect rootkits and BOTs?

Just wondering if it will detect rootkits and Bots during a quick scan

Yes, that is correct. If it is in our database and no other unknown Malware is helping to block it's removal then it will be removed whether using the Free or Paid version. However, there are some Malware threats out there that damage your system or drop other Malware onto the system that may be new and unknown so preventing it from getting on the box in the first place is better. Using the paid version it has continuous file and IP protection to help your AV protect the system at all times.
