Trojan.Agent (amongst others)

Working on my sister-in-law's puter running Win XP SP3. She runs Norton as her AV and keeps up with the updates weekly - but it has apparently missed some things. That being said, she contracted Trojan.Vundo (Virtumonde) two weeks ago -- with its indicative popups and slowing of the system. After running Malwarebytes, it seemed to have gone away.

Things were running great for about a week and a half until the beginning of this week when everything s%$t the bed. Not sure that the Vundo was fully removed or whether this was a new attack. Malwarebytes pulled upwards of 41 instances including backdoor.bot, vundo, trojan.agent, heuristic.____ (cant remember), rogue.agent, rogue.multiple.

Most of these have been cleaned out and Malwarebytes is indicating only 2 or so instances now...mostly Trojan.Agent. The main indicator is fake security/antivirus warnings that bog down the system and shut off access to key programs such as task manager, regedit, msconfig. The other symptom is that a fake adobe startup exe called acrotray.exe keeps recreating itself and establishes an hourly task in the task scheduler for every hour of the day. Every reboot...these show up again even after removal.
