MBAM crash & some other stuff...

Recommended Posts

I've found a few malware samples that MBAM detects, did a scan and removed detected files - no trouble there.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Version 0.79Database version: 222Scan type: Quick ScanObjects scanned: 64Time elapsed: 2 second(s)
Memory Processes Infected: 0Memory Modules Infected: 0Registry Keys Infected: 0Registry Values Infected: 0Registry Data Items Infected: 0Folders Infected: 0Files Infected: 3
Files Infected:f:\test\ddcdbxw.dll (Trojan.Vundo) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.f:\test\khfdbbb.dll (Trojan.Vundo) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.f:\test\opnlihe.dll (Trojan.Vundo) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

Problem #1: when I use Restore button (quarantine tab), MBAM crashes.

When I start it again, the item in the quarantine list it crashed on is no longer there, but the file is not restored.

So, as soon as I click Restore button, I get this:

mbamlc1.th.jpg

If I use Restore All, files are restored to original location without any problems. At least it seems so... That brings us to problem #2.

Problem #2: After restoring, those files are not detected by MBAM anymore.

And here's why: they all have one byte removed from the end of the file:

compareqf6.th.jpg

All this is happening on a couple of days old installation of WinXP Pro SP2 with all other security software disabled.

If more info is needed, just tell me what to do...
