false positive check - ampa.exe

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

My Malwarebytes installation flagged up a file that it thinks is potentially malware. It is ampa.exe , I think it was added to my Windows folder when I was installing some recovery software (AOMEI partitial assistant, EaseUS Partition manager, etc).

I have ran a scan on the file using Virustotal just to make sure, it appears to be just Malwarebytes that sees this as "malware".

Could someone check this, please? I've copied it to a zip file but I'm leaving it alone until I'm sure it needs to be removed and if there's a guarantee that it won't break my PC if I do so.

Thanks.

I just had the same warning and believe it's falsely flagged. It's part of AOMEI Partition Assistant.
