Am I infected?

Recommended Posts

When I run Malware, it gets to my external drive and then I get an "error code 721 (0,5)". I followed all of the instructions under this topic. I uninstalled, ran the mbam clean up, re-installed and ran a quick scan, etc. exactly as directed. Everything went fine. However, when I run a full scan, the same thing happens as before.

I have picture files in several folders on my external drive that won't open. It says the files are corrupted and unreadable. I also have one folder that I can open but the file names look like this │╦⌡?u9

Hi,

Navigate to Start --> Run, enter cmd.exe, and press Enter.

In that black box that comes up, enter this command exactly as shown:

chkdsk X: /R

(Note: replace X with whatever letter your external drive is using.)

It may ask to run the scan after a restart; if so, press Y, then restart your computer and let it run the scan. After it completes, log in and see if your pictures were repaired.
