Malwarebytes crashes PC games if a controller device is plugged in via USB

Recommended Posts

I've noticed that Malwarebytes crashes PC games if a controller device is plugged in via USB. For example, Elden Ring crashes on start-up if a controller is plugged in. The game also uses Easy Anti Cheat software. If a controller is not plugged in, the game starts normally. If a controller is plugged in when the game is running the game will crash (hang up indefinitely). If I disable Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (Premium) in Windows 10, the game starts up normally even with a controller plugged in.

Then please restart the computer

Also, do the following.

lease make the following change in Malwarebytes if you're using the Premium or Trial version

  • Please open Malwarebytes. Click on the small gear icon to open the Settings and go to the Security tab.
  • Then turn off "Always register Malwarebytes in the Windows Security Center"
  • Restart the computer
