Improving Non Exe Detection Capabilities

Recommended Posts

While malwarebytes is a great tool for finding executable based Malware I find that it is weak against scripts or other types of malware.

I understand the free version is not equipped to detect these sort of malware and I understand no antivirus is perfect but malwarebytes struggles extremely with non-exe malware detection.

I don’t have any specific suggestions and I’m not hating on malwarebytes because I think it’s a great tool to have in your security arsenal but I just think that’s something that you all should work on.

i cant speak for Malwarebytes or its development but they did say we would see some "new things" in upcoming versions hopefully this will be one of those things.

MBAM 5.0 was supposed to increase this type of malware detection - however it is still subpar.
