HI.  

I'm new here and I'm not sure I'm using this site correctly as far as posting goes.  Sorry if that's the case.

 

I have been getting a popup from my virus protection when the computer starts up.  At first I thought it was because it was taking my newly install Anti virus software, Total AV, a long time to open during start up but I keep getting this warning.  PUAwin32speedingupmypc.  I decided to try and find a solution online and that's how I ended up here.

 

Please advise.  I found a thread at Malware Tips but it's an older thread and I thought I'd ask for help as it's an older post.

I followed the instructions here as to what to run, AdwCleaner, Malware bytes,Tried to run HiJack but the link was broken, then I run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free.

It found one  PUA but it seemed to be a different one that what I first saw and this PUA was being caused by Total AV.  I've paid the subscription for this product but now I'm wondering if I've be taken advantaged of.

You need to either uninstall Total AV or add exclusions in Malwarebytes.

Personally, I would get a refund if possible from Total AV. https://www.malwarebytes.com/blog/detections/pup-optional-totalav
