[ RESOLVED ] PC slow as hell since last update

Hello

Weeks ago there was an issue with the last version, opening zip files took 5/10 seconds with MB, less than one without.

Lot of people had this issue and suggested to move on the beta version. 

I did it and it worked fine till yesterday.

As a PC gamer, all my favorite steam games are blocked on the boot screen for 2 minutes when MB is active. It boots fine without. 

I uninistalled the beta, re install the last version, same issue.

Please do the following so that we may take a closer look at your system.

Do these 2 steps FIRST so that files and folders are set to SHOW, plus also, Turn OFF Windows Fast Start.

Show-Hidden-Folders-Files-Extensions

Disable-Fast-Startup

Then please restart the computer and then do the following.

WARNING: Do Not click the Repair option under Advanced unless requested by a Malwarebytes support agent or authorized helper

NOTE: The tools and the information obtained are safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

  • Download the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  • In your Downloads folder, open the mb-support-x.x.x.xxx.exe file
  • In the User Account Control pop-up window, click Yes to continue the installation
  • Run the MBST Support Tool. The tool also downloads and runs a file called FRSTEnglish. Please allow it to run.
  • In the left navigation pane of the Malwarebytes Support Tool, click Advanced
  • In the Advanced Options, click Gather Logs. A status diagram displays the tool is Getting logs from your machine

  • A zip file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to the Desktop or on the hidden Public desktop (usually C:\Users\Public\Desktop), please upload that file on your next reply

Thanx for your answer but I will not disable the Fast-Startup based on a sentence with no source or real argument "It is recommended by many computer experts to disable Fast Startup to help prevent various installation and update issues as well as encrypted disk issues." .  As a computer expert my self, from my professional and personnal experiences, using it computers for years, i see no reason to disable it for MB.

I will not post the logs neither "The tools and the information obtained are safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer" > its false, those logs contains a lot about my PC and my privacy (PC configuration, installed programs, VPN IPs etc...) 

 

  its definitely an issue with the product - i forgot to write previously that i use the paid version - , a similar issue was already posted here by other members weeks ago :

The WinRAR related resource problem was resolved a while back and prior to the v5.x release.

If you believe there is "...definitely an issue with the product" please gather the logs as suggested to help find why you have said issue.

MB 5 has been released. https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/thankyou

Depending on your license type (subscription or lifetime) there can be different ways needed to install/activate the new version.

Something else is going on and the install must not be completed. This time try to download and save the file in a different location.  The URLs default to;  MBSetup.exe  and you may be choosing the wrong file.

The URL I provided is the v5 installer.
