I have found out, testing with free version of MB 5.x. It's possible to run a quickscan if "get reminded to run a scan when new files or programs are downloaded" is selected.

I have only tested this with weekly checks and not something else.

I could be wrong, but it ask me to do a quickscan each time. And it allows me to do so.

it does not specify the type of scan. It runs a threat scan I think.

Yes I think it's a threat scan. Maybe the popup that comes shouldn't say "you can run a quickscan now, and click here" for free version.

The reason it is "quick" is it is a custom scan of the files in the downloads folder only.
