Hi Forum,

I have Malwarebytes installed in my Windows.

Has anyone had experiences in forwarding Malwarebytes logs to another server?

According to Root Admin, these are the locations of the log files,

https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/283233-resolved-location-of-log-files/

Anti-Exploit Logs: (these are encrypted so direct access won't be readable) C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\AeDetections

Anti-Ransomware Logs: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\ArwDetections

Web Protection Logs: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\MwacDetections

Real-Time Protection Logs: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\RtpDetections

Scan Logs: C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\ScanResults

How do I forward all these log files to another server?

Thank you!

Hi,

Thanks for posting in the Malwarebytes for Windows Help forum.

If you are having technical issues with our Windows product, please do the following:

Malwarebytes Support Tool - Advanced Options

This feature is designed for the following reasons:

  • For use when you are on the forums and need to provide logs for assistance
  • For use when you don't need or want to create a ticket with Malwarebytes
  • For use when you want to perform local troubleshooting on your own

How to use the Advanced Options:

Spoiler
  1. Download Malwarebytes Support Tool
  2. Double-click mb-support-X.X.X.XXXX.exe to run the program
    • You may be prompted by User Account Control (UAC) to allow changes to be made to your computer. Click Yes to consent.
  3. Place a checkmark next to Accept License Agreement and click Next
  4. Navigate to the Advanced tab
  5. The Advanced menu page contains four categories:
    • Gather Logs: Collects troubleshooting information from the computer. As part of this process, Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) is run to perform a complete diagnosis. The information is saved to a file on the Desktop named mbst-grab-results.zip and can be added as an email attachment or uploaded to a forum post to assist with troubleshooting the issue at hand.
    • Clean: Performs an automated uninstallation of all Malwarebytes products installed to the computer and prompts to install the latest version of Malwarebytes for Windows afterwards. The Premium license key is backed up and reinstated. All user configurations and other data are removed. This process requires a reboot.
    •  Repair System: Includes various system-related repairs in case a Windows service is not functioning correctly that Malwarebytes for Windows is dependent on. It is not recommended to use any Repair System options unless instructed by a Malwarebytes Support agent.
    • Anonymously help the community by providing usage and threat statistics: Unchecking this option will prevent Malwarebytes Support Tool from sending anonymous telemetry data on usage of the program.
  6. To provide logs for review click the Gather Logs button
  7. Upon completion, click OK
  8. A file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your Desktop
  9. Please attach the file in your next reply.
  10. To uninstall all Malwarebytes Products, click the Clean button.
  11. Click the Yes button to proceed.
  12. Save all your work and click OK when you are ready to reboot.
  13. After the reboot, you will have the option to re-install the latest version of Malwarebytes for Windows.
  14. Select Yes to install Malwarebytes.
  15. Malwarebytes for Windows will open once the installation completes successfully.

Windows Server 2016 Standard

I am sorry to inform you that Malwarebytes Premium free or trial (stand alone) is not designed or supported for use on any server OS and is also against the EULA as well.

1. License.

(a) Free & Trial Licenses.

If you have obtained a free, trial or evaluation version of the Software from Malwarebytes or from a Malwarebytes authorized reseller, then conditioned upon your compliance with the terms and conditions of this Agreement, Malwarebytes grants you a non-exclusive and non-transferable license to Execute the Software solely in executable form. The foregoing license permits Execution of only such number of copies of the Software, and on such number of devices (including mobile devices), computers or virtual machines (“Devices”), as is expressly permitted by Malwarebytes with respect to your trial with each instance of an operating system on a partitioned or virtualized machine counted as a Device. If no such number of copies or Devices is specified by Malwarebytes, the foregoing license permits Execution of a single copy of the Software on a single Device. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the free, trial, or evaluation version of the Software is not licensed for, and shall not be Executed on, any Device which runs an operating system designed for servers. For purposes of this Agreement, “Execute” and “Execution” means to load, install, and/or run the Software locally on a single Device in order to benefit from its functionality as designed by Malwarebytes.

(b) Paid License.

If you purchased a license to the Software from Malwarebytes or from a Malwarebytes authorized reseller, then conditioned upon your compliance with the terms and conditions of this Agreement, Malwarebytes grants you a non-exclusive and non-transferable license to Execute the number of copies of the Software for which you have paid solely in executable form on the corresponding number of Devices owned or used by you. Furthermore, you may not Execute the Software on any Device(s) running a server operating system unless it is a Malwarebytes server product as reflected in its official product name and official release notes. You agree that your purchases are not contingent on the delivery of any future functionality or features (including future availability of any Software beyond the current license term or any new releases), or dependent on any oral or written public comments made by Malwarebytes regarding future functionality or features.

Malwarebytes Free 4.6.8

You can find Scan and Protection logs within the Malwarebytes 4 program in the following location

RTP stands for Real-Time Protection and is where automatic protection operations would normally be logged

If you click on the View option you should get something similar to the following with other options available.
