Questionable Search Results

Hello Everyone: I have recently noticed that the results of Google searches in Firefox contain some spurious Sponsored listings. For example, links pointing to websites such as:

 

• findresultsnow.co
• newsearchtoday.co
• info.com
• ca.morery.co
   

This does not happen on all searches, and does not happen in other browsers (Chrome, Opera).

 

Is anyone else having this problem, and is this something that Malwarebytes should be catching?

I suggest you do a factory reset.

Hello Porthos: Thank you for your reply to my post, and for the suggested fix, with the helpful instruction guide.

 

I applied the Factory Reset and tested with searches where I could predictably reproduce the symptoms with the suspect listings. During this testing, the bogus site entries did not appear, in fact I am now seeing almost no Sponsored results at all.

 

So the results look good - thanks for your help.
