Fix or reinstall?

Good day all,

I'm getting my butt kicked by cooties on my computer. But after looking at some to the posts here, I would think a reinstall would;

A) Fix the problem.

B) Take way less time.

C) Cut way down on the learning curve.

Any input would be appreciated.

It looks like I may have a root kit problem. Browsers redirected, a couple of dumps when booting, Malwarebytes finds a couple of problems but they reappear. Avira finds no problems. - Vista Home Prem - More details if I decide to fix rather that reload.

I would go with fix, you would have to remove the infections anyway as a reinstall would not remove them.

I have gone both ways on this.

If the computer has no data I need to save, I dont mind reinstalling it fresh. A good format will more than likely get rid of the bugs.

If the computer is infected but not too bad, I would go with the clean option.
