error 1073 on startup

Recommended Posts

Greetings and welcome :)

Please follow the instructions for #7 of the FAQ located here to see if that corrects it.

If not then please create a batch file:

  • Please copy and paste the following text in the Code box exactly as written into notepad (not wordpad or any other text editor):
    reg query "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup" /v SystemPartition>"%userprofile%\desktop\SysPart.txt"

  • Once you've done that click on File and select Save As...
  • In the Save dialogue box click on the drop down menu next to Save as type and select All Files
  • Name the file Check.bat (the .bat extension is very important)
  • Save the file to your desktop and double click it to run it.

Once it completes you will find a file named SysPart.txt on your desktop. Please copy and paste its contents into your next reply.

Please let me know how it goes.

Thanks :) .

OK. Here are the contents of the file;

! REG.EXE VERSION 3.0

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Setup

SystemPartition REG_SZ \Device\Harddisk0\DP(1)0x7e00-0x32e53fc00+1

(I'm not sure how this will help though..?)

There is a known issue with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and non-default disk configurations, which that registry key shows. Currently there is no known solution and as such I would advise you to contact support@malwarebytes.org and they will provide you with a full refund.
