When I download the application and try to run it; it says that the .exe file cannot be found and the application won't run, here's my log:

Hi,

To run malwarebytes when you get the error code 2 during install, or mbam.exe gets deleted, please see here:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=29028

Once malwarebytes opens, click the "Update" tab, click "Check for Updates" in order to download the updates.

Then run the scan, let mbam quarantine/delete what it found and reboot afterwards.

After reboot, post the malwarebytes log together with a new HijackThislog.

I did a full system scan and the only mbam.exe file I found was a .pf
I guess we are on a different page here.

Let me give you the instructions again...

download a randomized renamed mbam.exe version from here.

Place the renamed mbam.exe in the Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware folder on the infected PC and launch the renamed file.

Then malwarebytes should run.

I try the randomized file, and I always get this Error Code: 707 (3, 0)

Yes, but that's what I'm saying. You have to place that randomized file into the Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware folder on the infected PC and launch the renamed file. As long as that file is not there, it won't work.

I figured it out, I'm sorry, was thinking it through, the scan is working now

After the initial scan and restarting my PC I am getting a ton of bad image messages, and recommendation on what I should do? Also, tried to update, and received error 732 (0,0)
That was also in my instructions on the other page - the errors are normal, this means that the malware is gone. A next reboot won't give these errors anymore. In either way, just post the log from Malwarebytes and a new HijackThislog :)

Make sure your Internet Explorer is closed when you click Fix Checked!

Then, REBOOT! Important.

Thanks for the file. The one you have uploaded appears to be slightly different. You've uploaded COM+-System.exe (note the - there)

That one is also malicious. However, in your log, it appears without the - in it, so to make sure, do next please....

Anyway, to make sure, that I get the other one as well...

* Please download the Suspicious File Packer from here:

http://www.safer-networking.org/files/sfp.zip

Unzip it to the desktop and run it.

Paste the following bold part into the Suspicious File Packer window:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\COM+ System.exe

C:\WINDOWS\system32\COM+-System.exe

Allow SFP to pack the file. This will generate a CAB archive on your desktop.

Go to this page.

Enter the url of this thread in the first field.

Where it says, browse to the file that you want to submit, click the browse button next to the second field and browse to the CAB archive that was been created on your desktop.

The cab file will be called requested-files[*].cab (the * stands for the date and hour).

Then click the Send File button below.

Then delete the COM+ System.exe file + delete the requested-files[*].cab archive as well (after you have uploaded it to me).

Then, to fix the malwarebytes update error, uninstall Malwarebytes again and then reinstall.

* Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from Here or Here

Post a new HijackThislog in your next reply and a new log from malwarebytes, (after reinstall > update > scan)

Thanks for the file.

Malwarebytes has been updated in a meanwhile to deal with the variant you were dealing with. So make sure you update before you run the scan. If you can't update, uninstall Malwarebytes and reinstall it again.

Please delete the cab archive that the program Suspicius File Packer created on your desktop as well.

Hi,

First of all, I assume you have downloaded and installed latest Malwarebytes version program after uninstalling the other one and rebooted? This because this is important.

Also, please see here:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=24605

And check the settings in your Internet Explorer.

Also, post a new HijackThislog in your next reply.
