Can't run Malwarebytes

Recommended Posts

I picked up something nasty and I can't seen to run any of my antivirus or antimalware programs.

When I try to run malwarebytes I get an error saying it can't find the exe.

My Norton is getting hit and stopping a dowloader every few seconds.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This looks like the nasty here. I am in the process of cleaning the same thing ( I think).

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [latusohej] Rundll32.exe "c:\windows\system32\kikuziru.dll",a

I am pretty sure it is vundo, just a new variant or something. Look in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Windows and have a look at the AppInit_DLLs key. Mine lists 3 .dlls in the windows\system32 directory. Try booting to a knoppix or winpe live cd and removing the .dlls, and then see if MBAM will run.

Good luck
