Hacked and Cookies Stolen, All Accounts Disappeared

Recommended Posts

Hello

I hope you can assist me with an urgent issue I've encountered. Recently, I opened a file that I believed to be safe, but it turned out to be malicious. The file was unusually large at 700MB, which I now understand may have allowed it to slip past my antivirus software undetected. Unfortunately, this has resulted in a security breach that has compromised my online accounts.

Here's a breakdown of the situation:

  1. Security Breach: As a result of opening this malicious file, my computer was compromised, and I believe my cookies were stolen.

  2. Logged Out of All Accounts: I have been logged out of all my online accounts across various platforms, including Google and Microsoft. Moreover, my "recently logged in" account lists have been wiped clean.

Given these circumstances, I'm in urgent need of guidance on how to address this issue and regain control of my accounts and security.

Here's what I've done so far:

  • Ran a complete antivirus scan, which did not detect any additional threats.
  • Changed my passwords for all online accounts, including my Microsoft account.
  • Enabled two-factor authentication wherever possible.

However, I'm still facing the following issues:

  • All my cookies appear to have been stolen, and I'm concerned about the implications of this.
  • My account lists for Google and Microsoft show no recent activity, which is disconcerting.
  • I am unable to access some of my accounts due to the security breach.

I'd greatly appreciate any advice, steps, or guidance you can provide to help me address this issue effectively and ensure the security of my accounts moving forward. Your expertise and assistance are invaluable to me during this challenging time.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Best regards

Hello @Mustafa_katada and :welcome::

While you are waiting for the next qualified/approved malware removal expert helper to weigh in on your topic, and even though you may have run the following Malwarebytes utility, or its subsets, please carefully follow these instructions:

  1. Download the Malwarebytes Support Tool.
  2. In your Downloads folder, open the mb-support-x.x.x.xxx.exe file.
  3. In the User Account Control (UAC) pop-up window, click Yes to continue the installation.
  4. Run the MBST Support Tool.
  5. In the left navigation pane of the Malwarebytes Support Tool, click Advanced.
  6. In the Advanced Options, click only Gather Logs. A status diagram displays the tool is Getting logs from your computer.  WARNING: Do Not click the Repair System under Advanced unless requested to by a Malwarebytes support agent or authorized helper.
  7. A zip file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to the Public desktop, please attach that file in your next reply to this topic. Please do NOT copy and paste.

For the short time between when you post the diagnostic logs, and when your helper weighs in, please take no further self-directed remedial actions that will invalidate the diagnostic logs you will have posted.

Thank you.
