QwixxRAT and Telegram RAT?

I was just reading about QwixxRAT and Telegram RAT in this article: https://latesthackingnews.com/2023/08/22/new-qwixxrat-windows-malware-spreads-through-telegram-and-discord 

The article doesn't mention how it spreads, or what needs to happen for a computer to get infected (at least to a muggle like me). Can anyone fill me in on how to keep myself safe from this and/or whether MBAM and Browserguard will protect me from it? I'm on Discord a lot.

As a trojan it does not spread on its own.  It needs assistance.  This can be a link or attachment in email.  I could be the payload of a malicious document (aka; maldoc) or it it could be a fake web page touting itself as a Game Beta.  There is a myriad of methodologies that the QwixxRAT and Telegram RAT trojans and other trojans may use as a vehicle for distribution.

Ok great, so I would need to click on a link or choose to download something for it to work. Here's hoping that MBAM figures out a way to protect from it even if a link is clicked
