wdcloud v2 malware, cannot be detected by anti virus

Recommended Posts

My PC was briefly affected by wdcloud.exe last month, which automatically runs script that use my Chrome to watch Vietnamese YouTube videos. I can only see a youtube link at the bottom right corner when that happens and no active chrome window will show.

If I tried to end task through Task Manager, it will give me a pop up saying an extension called Violent Monkey cannot be turn of or something like that.

If I disable Chrome, it will use Edge instead. But eventually I found the wdcloud.exe file and deleted the whole folder. Then nothing happened for 2 weeks until today.

Tonight I got a pop up asking me whether I want to allow this app to make changes to my device. It appeared to be Microsoft Windows Based Script Host, but clearly it's now, when I click for details, I can see it came from a random folder. This time I found a wdcloud v2 file there, and deleting the folder will not stop it from coming back. However this time, I can only see Chrome or Edge running in Task Manager, but not any unusual youtube activity.

The notification/pop up comes back every 20 minutes or so. I used Malwarebytes to scan my device, found a few threats but removing them didn't solve the problem. I also used FRST, report and addition txt files were attached.

wec

I also attached the notification I got and the folder it originates from. Any help is appreciated.
