MB 4.5.32 Premium turning itself off

Recommended Posts

What good is a program that keeps turning off its protection? This is pathetic and Im getting sick and tired of having to deal with it. It does this on two different machines and accounts. Fix it or I'll cancel my subscription and go to your competitors!

Things can't be fixed without more info.

Please do the following so that we may take a closer look at your system .

WARNING: Do Not click the Repair System under Advanced unless requested by a Malwarebytes support agent or authorized helper

NOTE: The tools and the information obtained are safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

  • Download the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  • In your Downloads folder, open the mb-support-x.x.x.xxx.exe file
  • In the User Account Control pop-up window, click Yes to continue the installation
  • Run the MBST Support Tool
  • In the left navigation pane of the Malwarebytes Support Tool, click Advanced
  • In the Advanced Options, click Gather Logs. A status diagram displays the tool is Getting logs from your machine
  • A zip file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to the Public desktop, please upload that file on your next reply

Thank you

The logs indicate that your system is not running properly. That is could be due to a current infection or possibly damage from a previous infection. @DJRC

[ 1 ]

System errors:
=============
Error: (07/05/2023 09:33:40 PM) (Source: DCOM) (EventID: 10005) (User: NT AUTHORITY)
Description: DCOM got error "1115" attempting to start the service
UsoSvc with arguments "Unavailable" in order to run the server:
{B91D5831-B1BD-4608-8198-D72E155020F7}

Then you also had a BSOD the other day

Error: (07/01/2023 09:52:46 AM) (Source: EventLog) (EventID: 6008) (User: )
Description: The previous system shutdown at 1:07:35 AM on ‎7/‎1/‎2023 was unexpected.

Please see if you can zip and upload the following files if they're not too large. If they are let me know and I'll provide another way to upload them.

C:\Windows\Minidump\061023-38546-01.dmp
C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP

Windows Defender does not like these programs. I would highly suggest you uninstall

C:\Users\Don\Desktop\Programs\Driver Easy\Driver Easy 5.7.4.11854.exe

C:\Users\Don\Desktop\Programs\Internet Download Manager\Internet Download Manager 6.41.10.exe

C:\Users\Don\Desktop\Programs\Internet Download Manager\Internet Download Manager 6.41.12.exe

https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/cdc892d1e5c3cafc03a521ed2c81eb36f9826762cc3ad9e86f7138f92710c76c

These do not appear to be the valid normal programs from the vendor of the program.

[ 4 ]

This is not a signed file and may potentially be a risk running or your system.

C:\Program Files\Softdeluxe\Free Download Manager\fdm.exe
Task: {67A1DDAF-0BC3-4EB3-BB42-180D544C700F} - System32\Tasks\FreeDownloadManagerHelperService => C:\Program Files\Softdeluxe\Free Download Manager\helperservice.exe [128000 2022-11-11] (Softdeluxe) [File not signed]

The computer has what appears to possibly be a hacked or cracked version of Virtual Desktop

AppInit_DLLs: C:\PROGRA~1\VIRTUA~1\VIRTUA~4.DLL => C:\Program Files\Virtual Desktop Streamer\VirtualDesktop.Injector64.dll [134872 2023-02-27] (Virtual Desktop, Inc. -> Virtual Desktop, Inc.)
AppInit_DLLs-x32: C:\PROGRA~1\VIRTUA~1\VIRTUA~3.DLL => C:\Program Files\Virtual Desktop Streamer\VirtualDesktop.Injector32.dll [114904 2023-02-27] (Virtual Desktop, Inc. -> Virtual Desktop, Inc.)

I would suggest uploading these file to https://virustotal.com and have them scan them to ensure they're safe.

[ 6 ]

The computer is currently running an illegal hack for Windows and it should be removed. Many of these hacks are known to steal user data in the background and send to the program creators.

IFEO\osppsvc.exe: [VerifierDlls] SppExtComObjHook.dll
IFEO\SppExtComObj.exe: [VerifierDlls] SppExtComObjHook.dll

[ 7 ]

The computer appears to be running VR software from immersed I'm not saying anything is wrong with it but it has a lot of access to the system and is not a signed service. Be sure you fully trust this company.

R2 Immersed-Service; C:\Program Files\Immersed\Immersed-service.exe [22016 2023-03-09] (Immersed) [File not signed]

I would suggest uploading to https://virustotal.com to again, verify the file is safe. Probably is, but better safe than sorry.

I would highly suggest running the following fix  to clean up the computer some.

Please run the following fix

NOTE: Please read all of the information below before running this fix.

  • NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on this particular machine.
  • Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system that cannot be undone.

Once the fix has been completed, please attach the file FIXLOG.TXT to your next reply

Farbar program:   FRSTEnglish.exe

Save the attached file:  FIXLIST.TXT to this folder C:\Users\Don\Downloads\

NOTE. It's important that both files, FRSTEnglish.exe, and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work.

Please make sure you disable any real-time antivirus or security software before running this script. Once completed, make sure you re-enable it.

Run the Farbar program with Admin rights and press the Fix button just once and wait.

The fix may possibly take up to 60 minutes to complete

If the tool needs a restart please make sure you let the system restart normally and let the tool complete its run after restart.
The tool will make a log named Fixlog.txt in the same folder you ran the Farbar program from. Please attach that log on your next reply.

  1. NOTE:  This fix will run a scan to check that all Microsoft operating system files are valid and not corrupt and attempt to correct any invalid files. It will also run a disk check on the restart to ensure disk integrity.
  2. NOTE: As part of this fix all temporary files will be removed. If you have any open web pages that have not been bookmarked please make sure you bookmark them now as all open applications may be automatically closed.
                Also, make sure you know the passwords for all websites as cookies may possibly be removed in some cases, but not all cases.
  3. NOTE: As part of this fix, it will also reset the network to default settings including the firewall. If you have custom firewall rules you need to save please export or save them first before running this fix.

The following directories are emptied:

  • Windows Temp
  • Users Temp folders
  • Edge, IE, FF, Chrome, and Opera caches, HTML5 storages, Cookies and History
  • Recently opened files cache
  • Discord cache
  • Java cache
  • Steam HTML cache
  • Explorer thumbnail and icon cache
  • BITS transfer queue (qmgr*.dat files)
  • Recycle Bin

Important: items are permanently deleted. They are not moved to quarantine. If you have any questions or concerns please ask before running this fix.

The system will be rebooted after the fix has run.

fixlist.txt

Thanks

I posted because your program has issues, not to analyze my PC. Your program is suppose to take care of that and it mostly does. But,  If real time protection gets turned off (while I'm using the PC) just out of the blue with no explanation even when tamper protection is enabled with a good strong password, you need to fix your software, not start picking on MY installed software/programs/apps suggesting I modify my entire PC. Its MB that has the problem per my complaint.

I'm sorry it does not perform to your satisfaction. Millions of users are not posting the same results or creating tickets with the same issue.

There is obviously something working on your system differently than millions of other computers. As you don't wish to clean it up then we probably won't be able to assist you

Maybe not millions, but many are, including right here in your own forum. Google the issue and see many more of the same complaint. You're still dodging the question of how MB protection can be turned off when tamper protection is enabled. What good does it do if something outside of MB can override that feature? I believe its internal and "outside" has little or nothing to do with it other than maybe not playing nice with defender. I'll wait to see if you can provide a logical answer instead of trying to blame everything else BUT MB.

No, I've looked at that logs and it does not indicate an issue. We fix many issues daily, but that's because logs help show us what is wrong. Your logs do not show any such issue for us to fix.

The program is functioning normally. If it does not meet your expectations then I'm sorry, send me your purchase information and we'll be happy to assist you with a refund.

Thank you
