Beneficial, uplifting, encouraging, enduring.

As listeners, we find solace, comfort, and happiness. It sparks memory, feelings, carries us into forgotten years. And then, we remember lyrics, introductory measures with a bass line, chords, spoken words. It continues to reside in our brains as "musical memory." The version your brain heard originally may not be the same as the audio files you hear today, or even worse, the re-mastered versions which have become so popular. Every time you sing a song silently to yourself, you reinforce that memory.

“Even non-musicians have really accurate musical memory...Music represents who we are and how we feel, so of course it’s what we remember." Remembering Music

How about lyrics then?

"I know you wanna leave me, but I refuse to let you go, if I have to beg and plead for your sympathy, I don't mind cause you mean that much to me...."

"I've got sunshine, on a cloudy day. When it's cold outside, I've got the month of May. I guess you'd say, what can make me feel this way?"

"give me a ticket for an aeroplane, ain't got time to take a fast train, lonely days are gone, I'm-a goin' home, My baby just ________"

" I know I stand in line until you think you have time to spend an evening with me...and if we go someplace to dance there's a chance you won't be leaving with me"

"Left for a job in the city, working for the man every night and day, then I never lost one minute of sleepin' worryin' 'bout the things that might have been"

"When I'm drivin' in my car and the man comes on the radio, he's telling me more and more bout some useless information, supposed to drive my imagination"

This garden universe vibrates complete
Some may get a sound so sweet
Vibrations reach on up to become light
And then through gamma, out of sight

Between the eyes and ears there lie
The sounds of color and the light of a sigh
And to hear the sun, what a thing to believe

But it's all around if we could but perceive
To know ultra violet, infra-red and X-rays
Beauty to find in so many ways

Two notes of the chord, that's our full scope
But to reach the chord is our life's hope
And to name the chord is important to some
So they give a word and the word is Om

To be fair, I have a life long interest in music. Played 2 instruments in my youth, sung in choirs, rang bells in bell choir. Read about song histories, musicians, and wake up each day with a song in my heart.
