Issue with Microsoft defender for no apparent reason

After fixing what I thought to be malware, I noticed that this setting was turned off, it doesn't seem to be affecting anything at this point in time, but it seems important, is there a way to fix this issue? I've turned on the option and restarted several times, as well as installed new updates, and ran sfc scannow.

None of these fixes seemed to work though, is there any other way to fix this? Is this a common issue?

Hello @NuggetMcSqueak This operating system is Windows 11 ?  That is what your prior case showed. Given that it is Windows 11, I am made aware that there is a known issue on Windows 11. My suggestion would be to check with the experts at Elvenforum experts at this link
