Malwarebytes Lacks Permission to Add Exceptions for GamePass Games

How come Windows says I don't have proper permission whenever I try to add exceptions for GamePass games installed via the Windows Xbox app? I want to stop Malwarebytes from scanning or otherwise interfering with Fallout 4. How do I do that without disabling MB completely before turning the game on?

What "interference" are you experiencing?

The interference is a choppy experience resulting in crashes to desktop when areas with large settlements are loaded. It also takes forever to start the game in the first place. Things were better until recently when it started taking longer to start and even games loaded from earlier saves with much smaller settlements are crashing when trying to travel there.

I have read in the past that Malwarebytes has caused this problem for people.

Try adding the entire folder the game is stored to the allow list.

Should be C:\Program Files\WindowsApps
