Won't Stop quarantining Utorrent

Recommended Posts

I am trying to use Utorrent to download the full, offline version of the Snappy Driver utility which can only be downloaded via a torrent client. But despite adding Utorrent to the exclusion list MB keeps quarantining it, calling it "bundleware" . It is NOT bundled with anything. I get that it blocks the P2P IPs it (and Snappy) sometimes connects to, but to quarantine the whole program regardless of my settings seems like a mistake. I do use a very old version of Utorrent,  2.1, vs more modern versions which are notorious for installing spyware, etc. and it has worked beautifully since that version came out.  MB doesn't have a problem with it on my other computer. What should I do? Thanks

Utorrent is bundle ware. qbtorrent is completely clean. You do not need any torrent program for snappy driver origin.

As for snappy driver, you need to exclude the exe from

Utorrent 2.1 is the LAST version that isn't bundleware, hence why I've used it. The following versions are bundleware. I did however install Qbtorrent and it is fast. So this ends up being a non-issue, best as I can tell.

As for Snappy, there are some drivers that have flaws. For example,  Nvidia has a history of this,  being exposed by the Nvidia community before releasing a fix shortly thereafter, like a week later.  Snappy gives me a list of multiple versions of drivers, noting which ones are considered a "better match" vs just the latest. Hence why I like it. Also, some drivers don't have any specific download source and Windows Update will NOT offer the latest drivers. I've seen Windows drivers well over 10 years old, even in version 22H2. Maybe older drivers don't matter for some things, IDK.
