FRST update confidence

Recommended Posts

FRST seems to automatically download an update almost each time it is used. The program triggers "high severity" Suspicious Activity alerts in the Nebula console, is occasionally blocked by Windows security settings, and is consistently flagged by vendors in VirusTotal uploads.

I recognize that those scanning systems function on automated rule sets watching for specific activities, and that FRST innocently trips many of them. I also recognize that the FRST update frequency may be necessary to stay ahead of being incorrectly flagged by vendor definitions.

That said, does someone on the Malwarebytes team have insight or control over the FRST code verification process? Is there a version history that details why updates are released with such frequency? Lastly, would Malwarebytes be able to host their own verified/approved version of FRST, as they do for AdwCleaner?
