Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted December 30, 2022 Root Admin ID:1547360 Share Posted December 30, 2022 Difficult to say for sure without seeing some logs. In general Google Chrome may simply know or think you're trying to access their service so it auto redirects. On the other hand it could be some type of unwanted behavior trying to trick you. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop. Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer. Press the Scan button. It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply. The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply as well. Thank you
Soku Posted December 30, 2022 Author ID:1547368 Share Posted December 30, 2022 Thank you for answer same happens when i do it on my laptop and computer but i remember it was always like that. I recently few days ago accidentally visited malicious website but one of members on forum guided me to check my computer and everything is ok no malicious threats found. This is this topic: Right know i am kinda more careful i also right now just checked just for curiosity https://forums.malwarebytes.com/ and also virus total is saying that it is malicious so i think it is false positive. Is there any way to check my case without installing any external programs ? Should i check my router ?

Maurice Naggar Posted December 30, 2022 ID:1547373 Share Posted December 30, 2022 @SokuPlease get and run Farbar FRST reports. Yes, you have to get and run that. Then I can review and guide you further. Meantime, please stop trying to use Virustotal to check website links. Yes, you will need to get other tools to check your system. I will guide you. Most are not "installed" in the traditional sense. I had closed your other case thinking that there was no indications of malware.
Soku Posted December 30, 2022 Author ID:1547378 Share Posted December 30, 2022 I think it will be easier for me to just do reset this PC feature on windows wiped out all data and reinstall windows. I can do that on my laptop because I don't have much data in here. Will it be enough?
Maurice Naggar Posted December 31, 2022 ID:1547432 Share Posted December 31, 2022 ( A ) I need Farbar FRST report to diagnose what the trouble is. Just as Advancedsetup mentioned, https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/293368-virustotal-false-positive/?do=findComment&comment=1547360 ( B ) you could simply abandon Chrome, and switch to a excellent alternate like BRAVE browserhttps://brave.com/download/ As part of its setup, it can carry over account & passwords from Chrome to Brave. Brave has strong built-in ability to reduce a lot of advertising. Also, keep in mind Windows 10 & 11 come with the EDGE browser ( C ) a Windows Reset operation seems to be way too much, if the issue is just one web browser potentially having glitches. ( D ) if you insist on keeping Chrome, you could do a special set of steps to try to get it properly set. Maurice Naggar Posted December 31, 2022 ID:1547434 Share Posted December 31, 2022 ( E ) there are several ways to get to the Gmail email account. one way is https://mail.google.com another is https://accounts.google.com and once logged-in, to click the menu-icon on top right, to scroll down & to select Gmail account By the way, you should be able to use either one of those links with the EDGE browser, or any other browser. Frankly, I am at a loss to understand your attempts to check stuff thru Virustotal.

1PW Posted January 1, 2023 ID:1547518 Share Posted January 1, 2023 (edited) Hello @Soku: I can confirm your observed hang condition at the beginning of download. Although the author/developer actively discourages its use, you may currently download the high integrity app from his website >>here<<. 1PW Posted January 1, 2023 ID:1547524 Share Posted January 1, 2023 Hello @Soku: The author wants the public to use the usual URL through the Malwarebytes servers. The periodic use of AdwCleaner is highly encouraged. HTH
Soku Posted January 1, 2023 Author ID:1547526 Share Posted January 1, 2023 @1PW Ok but last time i downloaded AdwCleaner from this link and i didn't have any hang. So why right now it is not possible for me to download from there? When it is official malwarebytes website.
1PW Posted January 1, 2023 ID:1547528 Share Posted January 1, 2023 Hello @Soku: At first, you were using the official URL, but something is currently failed. I then sent you an alternative high integrity substitute URL until the primary path issue is resolved. Cheers

The Farbar FRST is fully trusted and safe. You can put the reports into a ZIP file, and then attach that into a personal message to me. As I mentioned more than once, the reports are needed to properly guide you, after reports are reviewed and analyzed. ( The reports cannot be used to 'hack' you.) By the way, if you are able to download on one computer, them you can copy the download to a USB-thumb-flash-drive and take it to the problem-machine and copy it onto that machine. Where you can then run that. Copying to the Desktop is one good spot to put each tool. Edited January 1, 2023 by Maurice Naggar
