Still can't get Malwarebytes to run or remove Spybot

Recommended Posts

I've tried all the steps to get Malwarebyte's up and running again after getting some persistent virus on my pc. (When this happened about six months ago, the renaming worked). This time the renaming hasn't worked, or running Hijack This, and I also cannot remove the spybot.exe files on my computer. Nothing at all seems to work. I did install Hijack This, but before it could create the log file, it shut down.

I checked in devmgmt.msc, under hidden non-plug and play devices, for the possible TSD..... that might be there to be disabled, but it wasn't there either. Thanks so much for any help you can give me!

Hello bluejays6,

Please try the following.

Download and run Win32kDiag:

  1. Download Win32kDiag from any of the following locations and save it to your Desktop.

[*]Double-click Win32kDiag.exe to run Win32kDiag and let it finish.

[*]When it states "Finished! Press any key to exit...", press any key on your keyboard to close the program.

[*]Double-click on the Win32kDiag.txt file that is located on your Desktop and post the entire contents of that log as a reply to this topic, please do not attach the file.

Please let it run for at least 20 minutes without bothering it regardless of what it says. Then post back the log.

Then if it does return a large listing run the following.

Go to start > run and copy and paste the following command in the field:

"%userprofile%\desktop\win32kdiag.exe" -f -r

This should restore permissions on locked files and remove mountpoints.
