Hello,

I had an issue with malware on my firefox browser. Whenever I entered a search into google, it would redirect the page to yahoo.com with a weird url. Based on internet research, it was a yahoo redirect virus. I downloaded malwarebytes today to remove the issue. The scan took about 19 minutes and came back with thousands of results for adware, registry, and malware. I tried the quarantine option which took almost an hour to complete. Then Malwarebytes asked me to restart the computer. When I restarted the computer, the computer would not work anymore. The computer gets an instant crash message that says:

"Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. were collecting some error info

Stop code: System_service_exception"

Then the computer goes into the automatic repair screen. That screen says "Your PC did not start correctly. press "restart" to restart your PC, which can sometimes fix the problem. You can also press "advanced options" to try other options to repair your pc."

I get two options: Restart and Advanced Options. When I click restart, the whole process starts over again.

Hello @BigRed11

Under Advanced Options see if you can do a System Restore

If needed, please see the following further methods of running a System Restore

Run System Restore from Safe Mode or Recovery Mode - Windows 10
https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/272794-run-system-restore-from-safe-mode-or-recovery-mode-windows-10/

Thanks

You have to use another computer and build the Windows 11 installer from ISO image using the Microsoft download

That post discusses how to do it.

https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

You boot from the USB media not the current hard drive and do the install repair
