PHQMC Posted November 1, 2022 ID:1540080 Share Posted November 1, 2022 Hey everyone, I'm having issues with MB and Windows. After putting an item into quarantine, then rebooted the machine, now Windows won't let me boot the machine. The error I receive is: inaccessible boot device. PHQMC Posted November 1, 2022 Author ID:1540082 Share Posted November 1, 2022 The only way to access the machine is through command prompt, but even there I can't see to run any of the tools that we're available to display more logs unfortunately. Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted November 1, 2022 Root Admin ID:1540088 Share Posted November 1, 2022 You have multiple restore points @PHQMC Please select the last one created and restore to that and see if it will boot now ==================== Restore Points ========================= Restore point date: 2022-10-27 14:30 Restore point date: 2022-10-27 14:42 Restore point date: 2022-10-27 14:59 Restore point date: 2022-10-31 07:22 Restore point date: 2022-10-31 07:27 Restore point date: 2022-10-31 12:02 Restore point date: 2022-10-31 12:05 Restore point date: 2022-10-31 12:06 Restore point date: 2022-10-31 14:00
Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted November 1, 2022 Root Admin ID:1540089 Share Posted November 1, 2022 Actually, that is odd to have that many one after the other. Try one but it may not work. Look and see if you can find one older to use

Mine: 2022-10-31 12:03:30 2022-10-24 15:51:19 Other than that, I tried restoring but received error 0x800703f1 from Windows Restore System Tool. Never mind, the error I received was only on the Restore point of 2022-10-31 (no idea why), I just applied a Restore from the 2022-10-24, until now, no errors, will report back when the restore is done. What I was expecting happened, the restore apparently was successful but still getting blue screen with inaccessible boot device. Any other options? Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted November 1, 2022 Root Admin ID:1540176 Share Posted November 1, 2022 You may need to try and do some repair work Please review the following which has different methods of trying to get Windows to boot again Recovery options in Windowshttps://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/recovery-options-in-windows-31ce2444-7de3-818c-d626-e3b5a3024da5 If those options from Microsoft do not work, then please check the followinghttps://www.diskpart.com/windows-10/windows-10-inaccessiable-boot-device-5740i.html

Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted November 1, 2022 Root Admin ID:1540245 Share Posted November 1, 2022 Did you try the Microsoft methods? They listed several. Have you check in your BIOS/UEFI settings to make sure the hard drive is still set to be the boot device?
Solution PHQMC Posted November 3, 2022 Author Solution ID:1540389 Share Posted November 3, 2022 @AdvancedSetup I tried most of the methods described but none was working, ended up backing up the files I needed from the machine and ended up installing a fresh Windows from scratch. Thanks for the help.
Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted November 3, 2022 Root Admin ID:1540397 Share Posted November 3, 2022 Sorry you had to resort to that, but in the end a fresh clean install of Windows is more safe and secure. Let me get some fresh , new logs and I can check if all looks okay if wanted. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop. Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer. Press the Scan button. It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply. The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply as well. Thank you
