doggleboggle Posted October 23, 2022 ID:1538987 Share Posted October 23, 2022 Hello, Yesterday I purchased the new Call of Duty Modern Warfare II (2022) game from battle.net since you can play the campaign mode a week early. On startup Malwarebytes blocked the outbound connection to the IP address above. I closed the game at the menu and ran a full scan, which came up with nothing. I didn’t join any servers so I think it’s from the message of the day menu notification that triggered the block. I just wanted to be sure that this was either a false positive or a real website block and that my computer is safe. There is an image attached of the block notification. Thank you for your time, I really appreciate it.
Porthos Posted October 23, 2022 ID:1538988 Share Posted October 23, 2022 While we wait for staff to review, I want to pass some info on to you, Staff will check the IP and if not bad anymore they will delist it. It must be due to some server(s) the games are trying to connect to. Steam and many others use p2p connections to play online. As long as the games aren't at risk for connecting to malicious content (which they shouldn't be), you should be able to simply exclude the games' executables from Web Protection using the method described under the Allow an application to connect to the Internet section of this support article.
