'MBAMFarflt' Bypass IO

Recommended Posts

After Win 11 21H2 was updated to 22H2.  I see in Event Viewer   File System Filter 'MBAMFarflt' (Version 10.0, ‎2022‎-‎07‎-‎12T13:21:45.000000000Z) does not support bypass IO.
Supported features: 0x4. This was not present in the earlier version 21H1. I have enclosed the logs if anyone can shed any light on why this is happening.

Thanks in advance.

Support for bypass IO is not available yet.

At the moment we do not support this feature but the development team hopes to support it in the near future

Thank you

It is currently only recently offered by Microsoft and only on high-end computers at the moment. As has been said, we are working on supporting it.

On NVMe storage devices only
On the NTFS file system only
Only non-cached reads are supported
Only supported on files (not supported on directory or volume handles)

If it's still unacceptable you can submit for a refund if you like. We want you to be happy with the product, but obviously we cannot meet all demands for all users at times.

Thank you

It's 6 months later from this original post and I'm still getting this error:

File System Filter 'MBAMFarflt' (Version 10.0, ‎2023‎-‎02‎-‎10T01:32:54.000000000Z) does not support bypass IO.

Is fixing this bug on the table?  I've used MalwareBytes for many years and I'm surprised to see you folks slow to respond to this?

Rob.

It is not a "bug" just to set the record straight. It is a feature update that we elected to create an update for it.

The driver update is currently in an internal beta. I don't have an exact date for when it will be available for the public beta but hopefully not much later.

Thank you
