MOTU Posted September 12, 2022 ID:1532355 Share Posted September 12, 2022 My wireless routinely seems to bypass my VPN. I have a NETGEAR wireless. There are times that I will see Malwarebytes VPN, Has Internet Access and below it it shows NETGEAR no internet access. This is the way I thought it was supposed to be. But there are a lot of times I will see Malwarebytes VPN, Has Internet Access and below it NETGEAR has internet access. Sometimes it shows NETGEAR has internet access and below it it will say Malwarebytes VPN, Has Internet Access and below it it shows. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal? Link to post
Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted September 13, 2022 Root Admin ID:1532389 Share Posted September 13, 2022 Hello @MOTU and Let's start out by getting us some logs to review. Then possibly some screenshots (you can blur out the actual IP) to demonstrate what you're seeing. Please do the following so that we may take a closer look at your installation for troubleshooting: NOTE: The tools and the information obtained are safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system. Download the Malwarebytes Support Tool In your Downloads folder, open the mb-support-x.x.x.xxx.exe file In the User Account Control pop-up window, click Yes to continue the installation Run the MBST Support Tool In the left navigation pane of the Malwarebytes Support Tool, click Advanced In the Advanced Options, click Gather Logs. A status diagram displays the tool is Getting logs from your machine A zip file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your desktop, please upload that file on your next reply Thank you Link to post

MOTU Posted September 15, 2022 Author ID:1532753 Share Posted September 15, 2022 Changing the VPN connection seems to have worked as far as being able to post. The original issue remains. Link to post
Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted September 15, 2022 Root Admin ID:1532780 Share Posted September 15, 2022 This appears to be a Windows display issue. Did you check my Private Message that I sent to you? You can use a tool like TCPView to visually check the status. Link to post
MOTU Posted September 16, 2022 Author ID:1532911 Share Posted September 16, 2022 Hi. No I didn't get a private message; maybe it got lost with the problems I was having with the firewall blocking me. I'll get the TCPView tool. Any idea how I could correct the Windows display issue? Link to post
Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted September 16, 2022 Root Admin ID:1532949 Share Posted September 16, 2022 I'll see if I can find some links but not sure it is something that can exactly be fixed. Normally most users see a NOT Connected message Link to post
Root Admin Solution AdvancedSetup Posted September 16, 2022 Root Admin Solution ID:1532954 Share Posted September 16, 2022 Here are some examples of talking about it. https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1336654-windows-saying-i-have-no-internet-access-but-i-am-connected-to-the-internet/ https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-networking/windows-shows-no-internet-access-but-my-internet/2e9b593f-c31c-4448-b5d9-6e6b2bd8560c You have the opposite I believe. The TCPView program should be able to confirm that. Normally without a special setup Windows won't use both Wireless and Wired at the same time. In some instances Windows may show no internet access for the users main connection while showing Malwarebytes VPN having internet access. The user can access the internet without issues while connected with Privacy This is issue is not controlled by Malwarebytes Privacy and appears to be a common issue with Windows We can try doing a full CLEAN Removal and reinstall of our software to see if that makes any change but I don't think that it would. Once you've run the TCPView program and had a look around with it let me know. Thanks @MOTU Link to post
Root Admin AdvancedSetup Posted September 27, 2022 Root Admin ID:1535644 Share Posted September 27, 2022 As the issue would appear to be addressed, I will go ahead and close this topic now. Link to post
