the-termin8r Posted July 26, 2022 ID:1526354 Share Posted July 26, 2022 Hi everyone, I run BG with Malwarebytes Premium as well as Norton (yes, I know, spare me the lecture, I didn't pay for it and it's almost expired). For some reason today, Norton flagged and removed some file from C:\Users\[NAME]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\IndexedDB\chrome-extension_ihcjicgdanjaechkgeegckofjjedodee_0.indexeddb.blob\2\00 A bit of digging suggests that the extension is BG. Apparently is detected the file as "Linux.Mirai" Am I right in assuming this is a false positive or has the extension been compromised somehow? I uninstalled and resinstalled the extension and it still got flagged. I'll uninstall it again, just to be on the safe side in case it really is a virus. Thanks for any help. Link to post
Solution gonzo Posted July 26, 2022 Solution ID:1526377 Share Posted July 26, 2022 That file is a Browser Guard cache file. It is not dangerous and is most definitely a Norton false positive. Go ahead and reinstall Browser Guard. You may wish to add an exclusion in Norton for the location you mentioned so the silliness stops. 1 Link to post
