been with mbs 8 years (2014)

Recommended Posts

Let me apologize if I am putting this topic in the wrong place. I had no idea where to put this.

The increase seems steep... in that is over a 40.2% increase in your price.

While I understand there haven't been price increases since the beginning it's just a bad time to increase pricing.

Is there a discount for those that have been with mbs since the practically the beginning?

If money wasn't so tight I wouldn't bat an eye but with grocery prices through the roof and gas outrageous... just wanted to ask.

Thanks.

Pat

I can see the price of a new subscription has increased $5 per year but has the automatic renewal rate increased as well?

I do not know as I have had lifetime subscriptions since the beginning.

It's a $10.04 increase.

"As a reminder, your subscription for Malwarebytes Premium will renew in 30 days. Your annual subscription cost is $34.99 and your renewal date is 08-16-22.*

Please be advised that your usual $24.95 subscription price has increased for the first time. This reflects our commitment to ensuring you have the most effective protection possible."

For those at the original 24.95 rate it is a jump but that does not take you all the way up to the new 44.99 rate for new customers. You are still getting a discount. You did not see a rate increase when it went to 39.99 a good while back.

The subscribers that are at the 39.99 rate currently I presume are going to the new 44.99 rate at renewal.

Like you said inflation is everywhere and income is not increasing.

Been an auto-renewal subscriber for a few years.  I was shocked to see my auto-renewal price go from $41+ to $68+.  I'd be ok with that if there was some obvious reason for this 40% increase but I am not aware of any justification for this.  I would have been blind-sided like so many others have been/will be.  In this economic environment with rampant price-gouging, can you explain this.  I've shut off my auto-renewal and will go elsewhere.

I cannot speak for every account, but from the ones that I've investigated, most have made changes to their account by adding either Privacy VPN or adding an additional device to the account, which then causes a proration of time and cost to sync up to make all device licenses operate on the same time period.

This in effect can cause price increases not related to the recent price increase. For those with no change and did not have any previous legacy pricing, it looks to be about maybe a $5 to $10 dollar a year increase. There are varying issues that can change that and only support can assist with the actual cost break down.

If you are having issues or need to know the exact break down, please contact support and they can assist you further.

Please note that due to the closing of our Florida office, due to the storm, and a back log of tickets it may possibly take up to ten workdays for a reply.
