Restart Loop Issue

Recommended Posts

And now it's July and I just happened upon this problem for the first time... so it would seem that it was not, in fact, corrected.  Have there been any developments since the April debut?

I installed, restarted, boot loop... I ended up using the Win10 installation disk to boot and then continue from there into Windows where I MSConfig-ed before it could restart again.  I couldn't get to safe mode directly.  Restarting into safe mode, I was out of the boot loop.  Not wanting to take the time to figure out what part of the installation went wrong, I just deleted the MBAM folder from Program Files and had no problem because of it.  I tried the support tool but it wouldn't work for me either.  It just told me that MBAM wasn't installed, gave me a space to explain my gripe and then disappeared without prompting me for anything at all.  So I came here to find out what was happening and I'll try the offline installer... but just so's ya knows, it's still happening.  Or, at least, it happened to me using a fresh download straight from MBs site.

Please do not do any thing with the installer yet.

, Please do the following so that we may take a closer look at your installation for troubleshooting:

NOTE: The tools and the information obtained is safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

  • Download the Malwarebytes Support Tool
  • In your Downloads folder, open the mb-support-x.x.x.xxx.exe file
  • In the User Account Control pop-up window, click Yes to continue the installation
  • Run the MBST Support Tool
  • In the left navigation pane of the Malwarebytes Support Tool, click Advanced
  • In the Advanced Options, click Gather Logs. A status diagram displays the tool is Getting logs from your machine
  • A zip file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your desktop, please upload that file on your next reply

Thanks

I’d love to tell you I could, as such… but I already gobbled up that working installer. However….

Perhaps it is your good fortune that I’ve been working on two SSDs - sister clones. And I did the same thing with both, but I only used the offline cajigger on the one I’ve got running now. :)

However again… as I mentioned in my 2 cents, the support tool didn’t work for me either, so I have little reason to suspect it will this time. But I will give it the old “college try” in the spirit of boot-loop brotherhood. May not be tonight, but definitely by tomorrow, I will have a response for you.
