My suggestion if you really want to turn a new leaf and have a clean, secure, and safe computer is to back up your personal data (not programs and junk you've collected over the years) and then do a CLEAN install of Windows 11 if your hardware supports it. If not, then a CLEAN install of Windows 10

No matter how much time you spend cleaning the current computer there are files and registry changes you'll never know if it's safe and working as designed.

If your hardware does not support Windows 11 then the links below will help you to do a CLEAN install of Windows 10
