Off Topic question

Hello,

 

I have had my pc logs check by Malwarebytes staff and system comes back clean.

But I have a question about the following:

My Events Log is showing tons of Special Logon's

Thou I run Windows 10 Pro retail it is on home pc and it does have virtual box installed thou not used often.

I can't figure out what the special logon's are or who/what is causing them.

My pc also makes a windows sound at random and the sound is the "Message Nudge" sound around the same time as the special logon's.

Is it safe to post the Windows event log for those events on the forum or would that be enough for someone to have my system?

I run Scans often and I do not click links or go to bad sites so unsure if the Special Logon's are Windows making them or someone trying to access my system.

 

So can someone please point me in the right direction on how to find what is going on?

We'd need to get some logs. Please restart the computer first. Then run the following

 

To begin, please do the following so that we may take a closer look at your installation for troubleshooting:

NOTE: The tools and the information obtained are safe and not harmful to your privacy or your computer, please allow the programs to run if blocked by your system.

• Download the Malwarebytes Support Tool
• In your Downloads folder, open the mb-support-x.x.x.xxx.exe file
• In the User Account Control pop-up window, click Yes to continue the installation
• Run the MBST Support Tool
• In the left navigation pane of the Malwarebytes Support Tool, click Advanced
• In the Advanced Options, click Gather Logs. A status diagram displays the tool is Getting logs from your machine
• A zip file named mbst-grab-results.zip will be saved to your desktop, please upload that file on your next reply

Thanks for the fast reply to my questions.

I know ADWCleaner shows 5 PUPS and I ignore them as I use the programs.

And MAlwarebytes and Bitdefender all scan fine as does one time run of Hitman Pro.

A couple weeks back in your malware section you guys had me runs scans and the system is clean.

Like I said it is the Message Nudge sound that happens at random and the Special Logon's in the event Viewer that are my issue.

You can search the Event Logs for all the logon events and see if you can find anything out of the ordinary.

Filter the Event for which one you want to check on

If you truly want to audit what is happening on the system it takes a lot more work to get setup and running

You can check the current Event Logs for possible issues but it may not be verbose without Auditing enabled.
