Forum was Unavailable and when returned, content changed

Recommended Posts

This AM I read numerous posts, hid a post and replied to several posts.

Later, the Forum was became a Unavailable, 500, status.

When it came back to Availability, my hidden post was there, my posts disappeared and threads that I read were unread.  A whole thread about a 7zip CVE that was posted and I replied to is now gone and the user kangxi lost their account which was created this AM

New content I posted was also lost and had to be re-created.

We are seeing the same kind of issues on another Invision based forum.

I've had 'read' content come back as 'unread' on there.

It's as if the site had been restored from a backup and lost an hour or two of interactions (and posts)?

Just another Invision glitch. (They do seem to happen when it's a UK bank holiday weekend, don't know if that's just a coincidence?)

Just done some checking and on CCleaner forum we appear to have lost content etc. since about 12 hours ago (about 04:30 UTC).

There's a thread on the Invision forums, people complaining of getting no notice about the maintenance and of losing content:

comment from Invision management:

During the maintenance there was about a 90 minute window where, depending on various circumstances some roll backs may have happened. But it would have been at most one or two hours worth of input. I realize that can still be frustrating but DB maintenance can be difficult. Luckily this is something we generally only do once every year or two.

I suppose not sending email from their main support email address instead of UPTIME more people would have paid attention @nukecad

I know I overlooked it as UPTIME and PINGDOM come in often and typically are not emails of things to worry or concerned about unless you are possibly having an issue. Now that I'm aware I'll pay more attention to those emails in the future.
