CCleaner entry for Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

Recommended Posts

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (or MBAM) creates a log file when it has successfully completed its scan. These logs are made to be able to send useful information to the developers if and when you experienced a false positive or crash during the scan process.

These logs, however small the may be, are redundant if you do not need to report anything.

Because a great many members of these forums are using CCleaner to keep their system clean from unwanted files, I have created a so-called winapp2.ini entry that will successfully remove these MBAM logfiles.

How to:

(1)

Go to the CCleaner website > Go to the forum > Go to 'CCleaner Discussion' > Choose 'Add a Program to Winapp2.ini'. Or directly go here. After registering to the forums, please download this winapp2.ini file to your desktop.

(2)

Open winapp2.ini and copy and paste the following entry into the text file:

[Malwarebytes' Anti Malware]LangSecRef=3024DetectFile=%ProgramFiles%\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbam.exeDefault=FalseFileKey1=%appdata%\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs|*.txtFileKey2=%appdata%\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Quarantine|*.*

(3)

Move the text file to the CCleaner folder which should be located in C:\Program Files

I may be missing something , but

you could just ask CCleaner to empty that MBAM Logs folder (or clear specific files inside it) :

click (CCleaner) Options > Include > Add Folder > select the MBAM Logs folder in the list >

optionally change the filename-mask-box from *.* to e.g. log*.txt > OK .
