Razer

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone im back again the last time I got help it was amazing and fixed my problems but today I was messing with my razer synpase software and noticed that I had a new device called WD_BLACK and at first I ignored it becasue I have a WD ssd but then I got a reminder that I did in fact have a WD ssd but it wasnt black it was a WD blue ssd so I take a look at the device and it says that the razer software is being used from that ssd but i dont have any other ssd on my pc but the WD blue one so that makes me a little worried but then again it can be a glitch in the razer app confusing the wd black with the wd blue but I still dont trust it so I was wondering if I can get help getting to the root of the problem and to figure out if its something on my end or razers end.

P.s

the razer software im talking about is razer synpase in the dashboard it has a little section called connected devices thats where the WD_Black pops up and I have already tried to google seach what it means but I cant seem to find a answer.

Not really sure if it's an issue or not @lokey_ but we'll need to get some logs to get started

Please do the following so that we can get started and see what's going on.

The Farbar Recovery Scan Tool is a free Windows utility designed to create troubleshooting logs for your computer. These logs help our Support team to identify and resolve issues with your computer.

There are two versions of the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool available for download: 32-bit and 64-bit.
To find which operating system is installed on your computer, refer to Microsoft's article: 32-bit and 64-bit Windows: Frequently asked questions

Download and launch Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

  1. Download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
Do not click on any Ads.

  2. Locate the file you downloaded on your computer.
Downloaded files are often saved to the Downloads folder.

  3. Double-click the downloaded file to run the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool.

    DOC-1318-1.png

  4. Windows protected your PC notification may appear. This notification is from the Windows Defender SmartScreen Filter which prevents unfamiliar apps from running on your PC.
Disable smart screen ONLY if it interferes with software we may have to use:  What is SmartScreen and how can it help protect me?

         a.  Click More info.

    https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/article_attachments/360051190254/DOC-1318-2.png
         b.  Click Run anyway.

    https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/article_attachments/360051190294/DOC-1318-3.png
  5. When the User Account Control window appears, click Yes.

    image.png

  6. To accept the Disclaimer of warranty, click Yes.

    image.png

  7. Ensure only the boxes listed below are checked

    image.png

    Registry  Services  Drivers
    Processes  Internet  One month
    Addition.txt

    image.png

  8. Disable any Antivirus software you have installed ONLY if it stops software we may use from working.
Please remember to re-enable any Antivirus software when we are finished running scans

Click Scan. The scan may take a few minutes to complete.

    image.png

  9. When the scan completes, Farbar Recovery Scan Tool shows two messages:

  • Scan completed. FRST.txt is saved in the same directory FRST is located.

    image.png

  • Addition.txt is saved in the same directory FRST is located.

    image.png

  • Click OK to close each message window

Please attach both of those logs on your next reply, DO NOT copy/paste the contents of the logs directly

Do  you have an Xbox or Sony Playstation that you've ever connected to the system?

You can see here that there are a lot of hardware related installations that are HIDDEN but that is often done on purpose as it's part of a bigger software package

image.png

Please download HWiNFO the Professional System Information and Diagnostics program.
HWiNFO Portable for Windows

Unzip the program to its own folder such as: C:\HWiNFO
Go to the new folder and locate the file C:\HWiNFO\HWiNFO64.exe and double-click to run it.
Click the RUN button.
Ignore the update, click close.
Click on Save Report and choose HTML and click Next, then Finish
By default, it will create a new report named COMPUTER.HTM in the same folder as the program. C:\HWiNFO
Please zip that file and attach it to your next reply

Thank you

You have a few of the ENE Technologies items which is a manufacturer in Taiwan

http://www.ene.com.tw/index-en.php

And you can see that the WD_Black comes from them as well

WD_BLACK AN1500            1.0.14.0             ENE TECHNOLOGY INC.

More than likely part of the Motherboard or one or more chip sets that provide certain functionality - that may or may not even be used.

Some of the old Xbox devices appear to have used a similar piece of hardware that potentially may have created WD device names, that's all. No big deal.

Let's go ahead and do some clean-up work and remove the tools and logs we've run.

Please download KpRm by kernel-panik and save it to your desktop.

  • right-click kprm_(version).exe and select Run as Administrator.
  • Read and accept the disclaimer.
  • When the tool opens, ensure all boxes under Actions are checked.
  • Under Delete Quarantines select Delete Now, then click Run.
  • Once complete, click OK.
  • A log will open in Notepad titled kprm-(date).txt.
  • Please attach that file to your next reply. (not compulsory)

If you had Windows 10 Pro or Enterprise you could run Windows Hyper-V for free which as an excellent virtual machine.

You're running  Microsoft Windows 10 Home Version 21H2 19044.1620 (X64 - which does not support Hyper-V

The Hyper-V role can be enabled on these versions of Windows 10:

  • Windows 10 Enterprise
  • Windows 10 Pro
  • Windows 10 Education

The Hyper-V role cannot be installed on:

  • Windows 10 Home
  • Windows 10 Mobile
  • Windows 10 Mobile Enterprise

Windows 10 Home edition can be upgraded to Windows 10 Pro. To do so open up Settings > Update and Security > Activation. Here you can visit the store and purchase an upgrade.

Myself I use the VMware Workstation Pro but that is not free and is expensive for most home users

Your log looks good and you should be all set now. Don't forget to make backups of your data.

Take care and stay safe out there and good luck in your studies
