Google Search Engines.

So in latest Google Chrome version you can't delete other default search engines like Bing and Duck Duck Go besides google ?

I'm asking the question because I always deleted them before and I don't understand why they removed this feature.

I miss that function as well.

It was removed last year but looks like it may return by end of February or March.

Having them there doesn't bother me all that much. They're just strings and you can still decide which one you use. However, the fact that this is a de facto standard browser that most use today, I don't like the fact that a dozen people or so get to decide for 1.5 billion people if they can or cannot remove certain features such as this. I hate to get into politics but that's sort of the same thing we have. Some extremely small group of people that are so egotistical (if they were better programmers they'd add an easy feature to restore default search engines ) that they believe that they alone know more than the other billions of people what one should do.  Anyways... looks like it will probably return.

I believe that there should always be a choice whether you want to leave these search engines or not, and when you are deprived of this choice, this is a manifestation of authoritarianism.

I understand that this is their program and they have the right to do whatever they want with it, but such decisions will clearly not benefit them, since many people will not like it.
